Tank Commander Deering

Lieutenant!  What do you think your doing.  You get that crate of yours back to base right now.  This is the Imperial Guard, not some under hive speed cult gang!!!

Tank Commander Deering, could be in charge of her own Armored Regiment by now if not for the fact that she finds it hard to follow orders.   Lt. Deering has an uncanny ability to command armor, always knowing exactly where and when to employ her Platoon. 

Credited with uncounted rescues and last minute victories Lt. Deering is both loved and loathed by her Commanding officers. The troops of the 73rd adore her, although some believe for other reasons, and her crew always has her back.  First into and last out of a battle, Lt Deering can always be found at the front, pushing to beat the Kill record of Vet. Sgt. Knebel.

How 'ma lookin boys?

Well she's done!  I may still put on another clear coat but I haven't decided yet.  The weathering isn't the best, but better than some of my earlier attempts at it.  Hopefully the clear coat won't take to much of it away.  I've had that happen on a few other model's before and didn't enjoy having to go back and do another coat of  "weathering" on top of the clear coat.

Before you ask, I picked out some of the details with paints, didn't really use a lot of washes this time, and mostly I used those on the back where the engine is.  The rest of it was done with weathering powders and different types of brushes.

I've decided on a name for Commander "Lt. Deering", and I've started on a bit of back ground for her as well.  But one thing I realized was that I didn't have a name for the Mach itself.  The one that seems to stick in my head the most is simply "Thunder" but we'll see how I feel about that in a few days.
 

And above you can see a close up of Lt. Deering riding the Copula. Nothing like checking out the enemy with your own eyes before blasting them to pieces.

E Tenebrae Lux IV - Macharius Vanquisher

Well as some of you may remember I won a Macharius Vanquisher a while back.  Original post here Up until now I just haven't been able to find the time to get her done, but over the next 3 months I should have more than enough free time do finally do it.

Here's the current progress as of today.

 

The big push though came from the painting competition over at Bolter and Chainsword.  So I've pledged my Mach and now I have to finish it.

Well I'll be a monkeys uncle!

I've been reading "WeeMen" for a while now, not always online, but it's on my list of RSS feeds.  And I've always tried to "join" each of the blogs that I read of RSS.  It just makes sense for me, even if I don't post on every Blog I read.  So when I saw that they reached 500 Posts, I headed over to say congrats and see that they're doing a give away..  I also see that I never "joined" there site, sooo  After joining and posting a comment I sat back and said "naja, when I hit a big number like that I should do the same."  I really never expected to have my name drawn.

Well my name was drawn, and she's on her way to the "Vallivar Sub-System* as I write this. Once offloaded she'll be assigned to the 73rd Armored and receive the new color scheme required in the current theater of operations.
